The Bailey Racing team returned to Lakeport Speedway a week after their disapointing mechanical failure.Richard timed in 4th fast as only 4 cars got into the 8 second bracket.Richard ran away with the trophy dash winning by a straightaway giving him the pole for the main event.Scott Sabol started outside front row of the main and got an awesome start to take the lead.Sabol was a little faster early on and had a good lead but as the race went on Richards car got better and he reeled him in and they battled the last half of the race for the lead. With a couple laps to go Richard got beside him down the front stretch, but got squeezed down into the berm and couldnt complete the pass and had to settle for 2nd place. It was one of the best races seen at Lakeport in a while, and its good to see Richard up front every race after not racing the Kart all year.

Richard returned to Lakeport Speedway Dec. 3rd In his Bailey Racing outlaw kart. The changes we made on the kart after the last race seemed to work real well and Richard really liked how it drove. He was a little loose in qualifing and settled for 3rd fast time, and after getting run into in the trophy dash settled for 3rd in that also meaning he would start 3rd in the main event. In the main event Richard wasted little time as he jumped into 2nd on the first lap and took the lead on lap 5. There was no doubt that he had the fastest kart on the track as he pulled away to a half lap lead and just when it looked like he had it won there was a lap 23 caution flag. That meant that there would be a 2 lap sprint to the finish, and thats when disapointment sent in as under the caution Richard`s chain came apart ending his race.I guess thats just one off those racing"things"its not over til the checkered flag falls.

Richard and the Bailey Racing team finally made their Outlaw Kart winter series debut 11-19-05 at Lakeport Speedway.Richard said after practice that he was going to have to get used to driving a Kart again, but it didnt take him long as he went out and set" fast time " in qualifying! In the Main event Richard was battling for 2nd early on when some lapped Karts crashed in front of the leaders forcing Richard to climb hard on the brakes which stalled the engine.Richard had to restart from the back(12th),and worked his way back to 5th on a racetrack that was very difficult to pass on.We learned alot and plan on making some changes to the Kart for next race which will be Dec 3rd. All of us at Bailey Racing would like to give a very big thank you to Byrons Auto Body for dropping what they were doing and painting the body for us.Its always nice when you got the best in the business helping out!!If you need any paint/body work done Byrons is linked to our sponser page.

The BCRA awards banquet was held Nov.12th at the Radisson Hotel in Dublin.Richard got to brush up on his speeches as he recieved awards for 3rd place in driver points, and also he received "Rookie of the Year" honors as well.Richard got to meet Leroy Van Connett for the first time and Leroy told him some stories about the days when he drove the Bailey Bros. sprint car.A good time was had by all and it was great to see all of our racing friends again.

The Bailey Racing team has had a change of plans. Our original plan was to run the Outlaw Kart on 10/15 at Red Bluff, but with Chowchilla Speedway scheduling a two day show for the Midget Lites on 10/21&10/22 we decided to skip Red Bluff so we could get the Midget ready for Chowchilla. For info on the race or directions go to www.chowchillaspeedway.com ,we hope to see you there.

With the BCRA Midget Lite season now over, Richard and the Bailey Racing Team will now switch their attention to the indoor Outlaw Kart winter series. Richard just picked up a new QRC Outlaw Kart chassis last night, and we would all like to thank QRC owner Robert Carrell for all his help. Richard should be back in action at the Red Bluff Outlaws opener Oct.15th.
